Redesign Cigarette Packaging

Redesign Cigarette Packaging

This project focuses on improving cigarette warning labels and packaging in Hong Kong to reduce smoking. Since plain packaging has been used for a long time, its effectiveness has decreased. The new design includes tearable images, allowing smokers to physically interact with the package, making the health risks feel more real. It also uses warning messages and questions to encourage smokers to rethink their habit. Additionally, since many users place their phones on cigarette packs, the packaging includes NFC technology, enabling quick access to quit-smoking resources via smartphones. The goal is to make smokers hesitate and reduce their smoking frequency.
